MIND ACTION CENTRE
Reduced MAC services after grant cut.
Following a cut in our Ealing Council and PCT annual grant we have had to reduce our services at the Mind Action Centre. These have been based at the Greenford Community Centre and The Lido Centre at West Ealing. The services at the Lido Centre, however, closed on 13 January 2012.
The Chair of the Board of Trustees has issued this statement - “After a review we are pleased to be able to retain the yoga, meditation and music therapy services at Greenford but it is with a heavy heart that the Lido Centre services will not continue. We cannot sustain this service in the light of such a severe reduction in funding.”
“We had kept the service going by drawing on our reserves since becoming aware of the reduction in August so that we could look for alternatives. However, we have looked carefully at the situation and reluctantly concluded that there is no other option. We are continuing to look for new premises and are seeking new funding to provide improved services in the future”. (Statement made Doug Larner - Honorary Chair on the Board of Trustees)
The Greenford Community Centre services that are being retained are as follows:
Yoga and Relaxation Classes - Every Wednesday from 2.00pm to 3.15pm
Music Therapy - Every Wednesday from 1.30pm to 3.00pm
